Content Strategy & Optimization

Content strategy and optimization services that build authority, not just pages

Search engines and AI systems both reward sources that cover a subject completely, say something specific and are referenced by others. We plan content that earns that position.

The problem

Where content programmes go wrong

  1. 01 Publishing calendars are filled with keyword-led posts that repeat what every competitor already says.
  2. 02 Nobody owns the facts, so pages drift out of date and contradict each other.
  3. 03 Articles are written for word count rather than for a reader's actual question.
  4. 04 There is no plan for being referenced elsewhere, so authority never compounds.

Explained

What content strategy means here

Content strategy is the plan for which pages should exist, what each must answer, how they connect, and how they stay accurate. For search, it is how a site demonstrates depth on a subject. For AI answer engines, it determines whether your pages contain clear, specific, quotable information — or just more of what is already everywhere.

Why authority is the goal

Rankings and AI citations both lean on signals of authority: comprehensive coverage, first-hand expertise, accurate facts and references from other credible sources. A content strategy that produces generic posts at volume rarely builds any of these. One that produces fewer, better, original pieces usually does.

How it connects to AEO and GEO

Answer engine optimization shapes individual pages so their answers are easy to extract. Generative engine optimization works on how your brand is represented across the wider web. Content strategy is the editorial plan that feeds both.

Prisol’s approach

Our Content Strategy & Optimization approach

Start from questions, not keywords

We collect the real questions buyers ask — from search data, sales calls, support tickets and AI prompts — and organise them into topics.

Say something only you can say

Original data, first-hand experience, worked examples and clear opinions are what make content worth citing. We help you find and package them.

Structure for extraction

Clear headings, direct answers, definitions and tables make content easy for people to scan and for answer engines to quote accurately.

Maintain what you publish

Every important page gets an owner and a review date, so facts stay current.

Deliverables

Content Strategy & Optimization deliverables

Scope is agreed per engagement. These are the standard components.

  • Topic map

A hierarchy of hubs and supporting topics with the questions each page must answer and how pages link together.

  • Content audit

An inventory of existing content with keep, improve, merge or retire decisions and redirect recommendations.

  • Editorial plan

A prioritised calendar balancing quick wins, cornerstone pages and authority pieces.

  • Content briefs

Briefs that specify search intent, questions to answer, sources, structure, internal links and subject-matter input required.

  • Original research support

Planning and packaging of surveys, data studies or benchmarks that give others a reason to reference you.

  • Writing and editing

Drafts and edits by our writers, with subject-matter review by your experts before anything is published.

Process

Our Content Strategy & Optimization process

In practice

Content Strategy & Optimization example scenarios

Illustrations of the kind of work involved — not client results.

From fifty posts to one hub

A blog of overlapping posts is consolidated into one hub page and a dozen focused guides, with redirects and a clear internal linking structure.

A definitional page that gets quoted

A vague "what we do" page is rewritten to open with a one-sentence definition, a comparison table and sourced facts that are easy to cite.

FAQ

Content Strategy & Optimization FAQs

How is content strategy different from content writing?
Writing produces individual pieces. Strategy decides which pieces should exist, what each must achieve, how they connect and how they will be maintained.
Do you use AI to write content?
We use AI tools for research support and drafting assistance where it helps, but every published piece is shaped, fact-checked and edited by people, and reviewed by your subject-matter experts.
What is topical authority?
It is shorthand for a site covering a subject so thoroughly and accurately that search engines and readers treat it as a dependable source on that subject. It is earned through depth, accuracy and references — not through volume alone.
How much content do we need to publish?
Usually less than you think. Improving and consolidating existing pages often beats publishing new ones. The plan is driven by gaps in coverage, not a quota.
